I love taking soup for lunch!

There are times when I have leftover chicken or vegetable broth and odd items in the fridge such as opened corn in the freezer or half of an onion or avacado. I usually use these items to make soup. Just throw the broth the items that sound good to you or just veggies that you have or want to use up and some seasonings. If I have a mexi combo going on I'll use taco seasoning, but you can use anything. I call it Everything I Had in The Fridge Soup and it's as easy as 1-2-3! Try it.

We broiled pears with a little butter and brown sugar tonight for desert. Yum! Just like on the BBQ. A little ice cream or cool whip and you are in heaven. (only 2pts for the weight watcher conscious folks)

Saturday Inspirations

Sometimes creative inspiration and finished projects come from the most unlikely of days. While my husband and I were sitting on the couch watching a TV series on Netflix, I pulled out my newest beloved bunch of red yarn and started crocheting. What came out was a red twisted cowl for our friends daughter Nev.

It was easy and fast because it was so small. ;) I also took some time to add a simple yellow ribon bow embellishment to add some little girl charm. Can't wait till I can make things for my little girl some day. the red scarf made me feeling like I wanted a little pizzaz around my neck too, but I certainly did not have time to crochet a whole scarf for myself before we went out that evening. Instead, I pulled out a sweater which I had bought from a thrift store and that had been felted from a previous group craft project I was a part of. I pulled out the scissors and started cutting. I left a bit of the other sweater design in there for a pop of color. Much to my surprise, this came out with button intact and I had a scarf of my very own, which I wore and will wear again!

This was an even easier project and anyone could do this. I felt like a crafting diva, and all did was pull out the scissors. I think I will do that more often. Saturday/TV time = craft inspiration time for me.

Cleaning Out the Creative Closets

I have decided to put down the computer and spend more time getting my creative side on. To begin, I've had a ton of flowers sitting in my drawers just waiting to be glued to hair clips and headbands. After a day of feeling inspired: Whala! Functional hair acessories and an excuse to do some crafty bargain shopping to try my hand at a few new projects.

Enjoying Life and All the Joy Home Brings

As a woman in my early 30's, I enjoy a variety of activities and projects but one of my biggest loves is making my home. As a little girl, I used to browse the Sunday paper and dream of the day I'd have my own space to create and kids to shop for. I don't have any children yet, but for now I'm enjoying creating a foundation for my husband and I that will lead the way to a future that is rich in experiences, tradition, warmth and wisdom. This will be a space for all inspiration and creations as I make my home sweet.
